On behalf of the Walter R. Sundling PTA, I'd like to welcome all returning and incoming students, families, faculty and staff! This is a great educational community and we look forward to working together for the benefit of the students here at Sundling Jr. High.

The WRS PTA membership form along with volunteer opportunities, and the direct donation form are included in the August back to school mailer. Direct donations are a critical part of maintaining many of the student’s programs here at Sundling, and the WRS PTA does not have any other fundraising besides Dine and Shares throughout the year. The PTA is made up of busy parents, faculty and staff and is open to all members of the community. We hope you will join today to show your support. If you’d like to get more involved we hope you will fill out the Volunteer Form, too.

Once you have completed these forms they may be returned to school with your student. Also, we will be accepting these forms at Parent Orientation which will be on Tuesday, September 6th.

Please take a look at our PTA Meeting Schedule. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Sundling District Boardroom. All PTA members are welcome to attend. The meetings are a great way to stay informed about school and PTA activities.

I’m looking forward to working with our terrific WRS PTA Board, and all of you.

Here’s to a fantastic school year!

Kris Ahlgrim
WRS PTA President
Sundling PTA President 2015-2016

Every year, the PTA sponsors programs at Sundling to help enrich our students learning and overall junior high experience.  Below is an example of some of those programs:

  • The Scribe Newsletter
  • Teacher Appreciation Week
  • Cultural Arts
  • Book Fair
  • Blood Drive
  • 8th Grade Activities
  • Health & Safety Events
  • Parent Education Seminars
  • PTA Reflections Program
  • Student/Faculty Basketball Game
  • Plus many more...

Direct Donations:

We have successfully offered a direct donation program the past few years that has been highly supported by our WRS parents. In this fast-paced age where it’s hard to find extra time between work and your student’s activities, parents are looking for a simplified way to offer assistance.

While parents appreciate the services of the PTA, many welcome the opportunity to reduce the number of fundraising solicitations.  In recognition of this fact, the WRS PTA continues to encourage direct donations to satisfy its budgetary requirements used to support the many important programs it sponsors.
