District 15 Community Closets
This is your opportunity to help out with the District Clothing Closet. There is one each month and they rotate schools. For more information about volunteering, please contact Jennifer Sobel, our Health and Safety Chair at firstname.lastname@example.org. The next two are scheduled for Sept. 14th at Kimball Hill and Sept. 23rd at Willow Bend from 6 to 8 PM.
Welcome back to a new year at Sundling Junior High! I hope everyone is having a smooth transition from a relaxing summer to a new school year. As you complete all your back to school paperwork, don't forget to fill out the Membership Form to join the Walter R. Sundling PTA! Our PTA supports many programs and events at Sundling like Back to School Popsicle Day, Book Fair, Reflections, Teacher Appreciation, Black and Orange Social Event, Student/Faculty Basketball game, Graduation events and Spiritwear, just to name a few. Also in your summer mailer was the PTA Volunteer Form. If you can, please share your time and expertise to help the PTA and Sundling staff provide the students with all of these great activities.
If your schedule does not permit you to get directly involved, our Ways and Means Committee has a number of ways that you can help to fund the PTA. One great way to support the PTA is with a direct donation. We don't run many formal fundraisers during the year so we rely heavily on our Direct Donation Program to raise funds. A direct donation form will be sent home with each student soon. The form is also available on the PTA website www.wrsundlingpta.org. An easy and painless way to help is by participating in our Dine and Share Program. Several days a year, area restaurants share a portion of their sales to Sundling families with the PTA. Those evenings, the family cook can take the night off and support the PTA at the same time. Fliers will be sent home periodically with dates, times and participating restaurants. You can also find Dine and Share dates and times on the calendar on the PTA website. Our next Dine and Share is Tuesday, September 15th from 5-8pm at Culver's in Palatine. When attending Dine and Share nights be sure to tell them you are with Sundling Junior High.
Our PTA meetings are on the third Wednesday of every month. They are General Membership meetings, so everyone is welcome! It is a great way to stay in touch and get the latest information on what is going on at Sundling and around District 15.
We look forward to seeing you at Sundling!

We have successfully offered a direct donation program the past few years that has been highly supported by our WRS parents. In this fast-paced age where it’s hard to find extra time between work and your student’s activities, parents are looking for a simplified way to offer assistance.
While parents appreciate the services of the PTA, many welcome the opportunity to reduce the number of fundraising solicitations. In recognition of this fact, the WRS PTA continues to encourage direct donations to satisfy its budgetary requirements used to support the many important programs it sponsors.

Every year, the PTA sponsors programs at Sundling to help enrich our students learning and overall junior high experience. Below is an example of some of those programs:
